Welcome to my world...
Hi, my name is Martin and I am a professional musician who sings and plays acoustic guitar, with mandolin and ukulele used on some songs for variety. I provide entertainment that spans many decades of music, from old time music hall through the rock ‘n’ roll years right up to modern day. Currently, much of my work is with the elderly and those with learning difficulties but I also entertain at children’s parties, birthdays, weddings etc.
I sing the songs that make the whole world sing...
Well, maybe not the whole world but I do perform songs that are known and appreciated by all ages both for reminiscing and for participating. Some great examples are: King of the Road, Singing the Blues, Bless ' em All, Yesterday, Magic Moments, plus humorous songs such as: Jake the Peg, When I’m Cleaning Windows, etc. If I don’t know it, I’ll aim to learn it for next time!!
I am also half of an acoustic duo called ‘afterdark’. We are a close-harmony band covering more contemporary material from Elvis to Oasis. Please visit www.afterdarkmusic.co.uk for full details and music samples.
Hey Mr Tambourine Man....
Music is not just there to be listened to, it is also a media that encourages involvement.... and so do I !!! I come equipped with all sorts of percussion instruments so that everyone, young or old, can join in and have fun.
Music should not be taken too seriously. It is entertainment and there is nothing I like more than to make people smile and laugh as they play and sing along to the songs.
